The programme includes: a recording of Quiet City specially made for the programme by the Ulster Orchestra, conductor Vernon Handley ; Leonard Slatkin conducting the St Louis Symphony Orchestra in movements from Music for Movies;
Copland himself with Leo Smit playing the piano duet Danzon
Cubano; and Leonard Bernstein 's famous recording of the suite from Appalachian Spring with the New York Philharmonic.
