Joaquin Turina , who was born in 1882, is one of Spain's leading composers and pianists. In Britain . Turina is known as the composer of a brilliant orchestral study ' The Procession of the Rocio ' and of a number of very melodious and colourful chamber works. A considerable amount of his music shows the influence of Spanish folk music. Particularly is this so of the String Quartet in D minor, which is a very attractive work.
