Sooty: Sooty's Mammoth Circus

on BBC One London

Sooty returns in the first of a new series assisted by Sweep and Harry Corbett.

(See facing page)

With a loud bang on a big bass drum Sooty himself Invites you to join him at six o'clock today for 'Sooty's Mammoth Circus' - the first of a new autumn series. As usual, he'll be not so ably assisted by Sweep who as the ' Canine Cannonball' literally brings down the house; and Soo turns up with a tray of chocolates, ices, and lollipops during some tense moments in this ringside drama! I'm not really clear what else Sooty will be doing between now and Christmas as he never discusses anything with anyone except Harry Corbett. But he has given a long list of his requirements to those responsible. These include such things as a pantechnicon... an upright piano... a block of flats... a small ship in a large storm... plenty of water... more custard pies... and several changes of clothing for Harry - and another bottle of aspirin for the producer.
