No man has won this spectacular event more than once but today the brilliant Austrian FRANZ KLAMMER set out to add a second gold medal to that won at Innsbruck in 1976. After the surprise victory of LEONHARD STOCK at Lake Placid today's winner was expected to come from one of the favourites - KLAMMER, harti WEIRATHER, the world champion, or the Canadians TODD BROOKER and STEVE PODBORSKI.
