1: The Bach Family of Musicians
CPE Bach wrote his first significant works at the age of about 17, and they show the influence of his father's teaching methods. But both Emanuel and his elder brother Wilhelm Friedemann were keen to adopt their own musical style. CPE Bach became one of the leading members of a younger generation of musicians who favoured a simpler style of music with an emphasis on sensitivity.
