Billy Bragg recalls London-based, Mod-friendly 60s rock quartet the Small Faces, who specialised in R&B-inspired rock before shifting to a more playfully psychedelic sound. Defining titles include the hit singles "Sha-La-La-La-Lee", "All or Nothing" (their only UK number one), "Lazy Sunday" and, most iconically, "Itchycoo Park", plus the 1968 album "Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake". Contributors include band members Ian McLagan and Kenney Jones, Paul Weller, Stan Lane (brother of band member Ronnie Lane), Jenny Marriott (first wife of band member Steve Marriott) and Tony Calder.
