Wisecracking investigative reporter I.M. Fletcher is posing as a beach bum to get a story when he is approached by Alan Stanwyk with an incredible proposition - $50,000 and a guaranteed escape if he is willing to murder him. Determined to find out why, 'Fletch' pretends to agree and finds himself caught up in a bizarre and dangerous plot.
