An appeal on behalf of THE CANCER DEPARTMENT OF THE ROYAL VICTORIA AND WEST HANTS
HOSPITAL, BOURNEMOUTH, by Col. Sir
CHARLES GORDON-WATSON ,
K.B.E., C.M.G., F.R.C.S.
The Royal Victoria and West Hants Hospital has already established departments for the treatment of special diseases, and patients are received from a wide area. The sum of £15,000 is required in order that a well-equipped radiological department may be established for diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Owing to the numerous advances made during the last few years, there are few cases of cancer that cannot be relieved by radium and deep X-ray therapy. The appeal, which is to be made by the Vice-President of the Royal College of Surgeons, has the support of the British Empire Cancer Campaign, and the money is needed for the purchase of radium, deep X-ray therapy plant and other equipment, and for the provision of beds ; twenty-five per cent. of the contributions will be devoted to cancer research.
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be ad dressed to [address removed]
