Royal Ascot at York

on BBC One London

Clare Balding dons her finest millinery to present the opening day of the world-famous Royal Ascot meeting, held - owing to redevelopment - at York's Knavesmire racecourse.
Regular race-goers and viewers can rest assured that the quality of the racing remains unaffected, while sporting matters aside, the five-day festival's pomp and pageantry are renowned the world over. The action gets under way with a pair of Group Two races, the Coventry Stakes at 2.30 and the King's Stand Stakes at 105. Coverage continues on BBC2 at 3.20pm.
