Holiday

on BBC One London

with Cliff Michelmore, John Carter and Anne Gregg

Spinsters and bachelors, widows or widowers - many thousands of people take their holidays alone, and several tour companies specialise in catering for their solo requirements. Anne Gregg went on such a holiday in Amain, a holiday which promises candlelit dinners, companionship, and perhaps just a hint of romance.
If you're keen on sailing, but unsure of your ability in foreign waters, then a flotilla sailing holiday would seem to be the answer. You fend for yourself, but under the eye of an experienced leader. Tom Savage sampled such a holiday sailing off Yugoslavia.
For the last of his reports on the islands of Britain, Cliff Michelmore travels to Jersey, sheltered in the Cherbourg peninsula. In the studio, news and comment on the holiday scene.
