on BBC One London

The last in a series of special profiles in which David Dimbleby talks to well-known men and women who have set out to change the world in which they live. Sir James Goldsmith
Half-French, half-English, half-Jewish, half-Roman Catholic, businessman, litigator and would-be newspaper proprietor, SIR JAMES GOLDSMITH is literally a man of many parts. His huge French-based business empire has important interests all over the world. His news magazine Now will be on sale to the public in September. His campaigns against inquisitive journalists, his loyal support for his friends, his pleasure at the gaming table, even his marital adventures, all contribute to his fame. ' What a relief it is,' he tells David Dimbleby , ' to get back to France, where nobody knows who I am.'
