Assumpta's doubts about her marriage to journalist Leo grow ever stronger tonight, as she realises that her feelings for Father Peter are not something she can shake off easily. She's not the only troubled one however, as Father Mac and shopkeeper Kathleen get extremely jumpy when a woman returns to the village looking for her sister.
The biggest shock of the night, though is for vet Siobhan, who discovers that she is to become a 40-something single mother. She gets support from the surprising direction of Father Peter, who wisely opines that it's an opportunity not granted to everyone.
Meanwhile, Quigley seems to have done a disappearing act.
