Holiday

on BBC One London

Introduced by Cliff Michelmore
In the vocabulary of international travel certain words can, just by themselves, produce an effect. One of those words is 'Bali', conjuring up instant images of a destination many people dream of visiting.
John Carter finds out if the reality lives up to those dreams.
Recent years have seen the creation of purpose-built ski resorts designed to cater for every demand of the winter sports enthusiast.
But whatever happened to the 'real' resorts, the old-fashioned villages that exist outside the winter world and have style rather than design? Tom Savage went to La Clusaz in the French Alps to find out.
In complete contrast,
Bill Buckley headed for a luxurious country house hotel in Berkshire, then took to the skies for a ballooning weekend.
