Monday Film: The Incredible Journey of Dr Meg Laurel

on BBC One London

starring
Lindsay Wagner Jane Wyman
Dorothy McGuIre
When Dr Meg Laurel tries to bring medicine and help to a remote community in the Appalachian Mountains, she has to overcome superstition and bigotry and the redoubtable Granny Arrowroot as well. Meg's childhood memories of a 'Granny' whose medicine killed several of her friends cause her to make a rash decision.
Lindsay Wagner gives a fine performance as the pioneering doctor who is not always as rational as She would like people to believe.
