Britain's most versatile man of the theatre rarely broadcasts, but when he does so it is an occasion. As everybody knows, he has recently followed up his many stage successes with his first film, In Which We Serve ; but this has not prevented his play Blithe Spirit from achieving London's longest current run. He has also just ended an eight weeks' season of two plays, Present Laughter and This Happy Breed, in each of which he played the. leading part.
In tonight's broadcast he will sing some of his old songs and will introduce a new one in his wittiest vein, of great topical interest. He will be introduced to listeners by Tom Ronald , and Billy Ternent will conduct the orchestra that accompanies him.
