A programme for children under five
On page 9 mothers may read of changes that we are introducing today into the presentation of these programmes for our under-fives. Whether or not the children like this new idea we must rely on mothers to let us know when the plan has had time to establish itself, but we think our small listeners, now that they know their ' ladies so well, may enjoy the variety that this new arrangement will allow. So that the children may not have too much that is fresh all at once, we have kept to familiar, well-tried, and popular material in this week's programmes. It will be introduced each, day by Catherine Edwards , and as storyteller for today and tomorrow she will introduce Daphne Oxenford to relate yet again the oft-derr.anded tale" by Dora Thatcher of ' Tommy the Tugboat and the Queen of the Sea,' while for the rest of the week it will be Julia Lang who, on Wednesday and Friday, will tell once more the homely ' Penelope ' stories by Joan E. Cass and, on Thursday, Jean Sutcliffe 's amusing fantasy of the ' Brown Bunnies with Pink Ears.' Elizabeth A. Taylor
