Humphrey Burton takes a different opera by Verdi and looks at it from the point of view of a different practitioner in the opera world.
Today he talks to theatre and opera director Sir Richard Eyre about the psychology of Verdi's middle-period opera La Traviata and introduces excerpts from the recording of Eyre's own production, starring Angela Gheorghiu.
