Vlktor Ullmann The Broken Jug

Ullmann composed this opera in 1942, when he was unable to leave Prague because of the Nazi occupation. His departure shortly afterwards was to Theresienstadt concentration camp and then to his death at Auschwitz in 1944. The opera's performance at Dresden this year was its first.
