' Four Thousand Dogs'
Mrs. Barbara Rothwell Fielding
This afternoon Mrs. Barbara Roth well Fielding is to talk about the famous Cruft's Show, which, except for the war period, has been an annual event in the dog world since 1886. Last year there were 10,650 entries in the various classes, which was easily a record, though it may be beaten at this year's show, to be held at the Royal Agricultural Hall, Islington, on Wednesday and Thursday, February 10 and 11. Mrs. Rothwell Fielding has judged dogs both in Australia and over here, and has been breeding them for over twenty years. Among the breeds in which she has specialised are chows, Cavalier King Charles spaniels, and Afghans. About nine years ago she introduced an Afghan hound into her kennels, and since then she has devoted most of her time to this interesting breed. The winners she has bred and shown are too numerous to mention, but pride of place goes, perhaps, to ' Nimrod of Kuranda ' as a winner, while she also possesses that outstanding stud dog ' Kulli Khan '. By profession she is an artist, and specialises in animal portraiture.
