Appeal on behalf of 'Orphaned Missions', by the Rev. A.M. Chirgwin, D.D.
Protestant Christians on the Continent maintained in normal times about one third of the total European missionary staff in the non-Christian world. Danish, Norwegian, and French missionaries have contributed to the development, education, and physical welfare of numbers of British subjects in India and Africa. The war has isolated nearly all of these from their home lands and no money and little news can reach them. The International Missionary Council, under whose auspices this appeal is made, is trying to demonstrate the essential unity of the world-wide Church by helping to finance these stranded missionaries.
