In the wake of the Civil War Catlow and his band of cowboys roam the plains of Texas rounding up stray cattle to sell as their own. When Marshal Ben Cowan, an old army comrade, tries to arrest him, Catlow heads down to the border to steal two million dollars in Mexican gold. Enter the ruthless bounty hunter Orville Miller whose sinister designs on the happy-go-lucky Catlow can only mean an untimely end for one of them - but which one?
