Jet Morgan, pilot of the Morgan superstratoship, is asked by Steve Mitchell, an Australian and designer of an atomic rocket motor, to join him in an attempt to reach the Moon. On arriving at the launching ground, Smith, Mitchell's director of 'space medicine' research, is found dead in his room.
