Lydia is hired to teach dance to a professional basketball team but finds herself getting involved with S.T. Gray, the one player who refuses to come to class. Lydia is torn between her feelings and her professionalism, because if she reports S.T. to the coach he will face a fine and possibly a suspension. Meanwhile Shorofsky is astonished when Doris refuses to perform for a Jewish benefit, rejecting her heritage.
