TRUE STORY

on Light Programme

White Hell
Written and narrated by STEPHEN GRENFELL
With its crew of five and an assorted cargo of unusual freight the transport aircraft battled through the blinding snowstorm. Then it crashed, breaking in two-six thousand feet up on the inaccessible glacier. In the crash the radio was smashed beyond repair. Under these appalling conditions could the crew survive long enough for rescue teams to reach them? Could indeed the rescue teams pinpoint the crashed aircraft in the interminable wastes of the white hell?
