In Part 2 the writer told of the birth of her daughter, Elizabeth, in 1897, and of her son, Anthony, in 1902; of Joseph Chamberlain's resignation from Mr.
Balfour's Cabinet in September 1903, and of the General Election in 1905, which brought the Liberals back into office under Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman. On Sir Henry's death in March 1908, her husband-Henry Asquith-became Prime Minister.
