Most children love trains, and two of the films in today's programme are about trains. The main film, The Boy and the Express, tells the story of little Tommy Brown, the son of an engine driver, who is given for his birthday a torch which flashes red and green. Tommy, who loves to play at being a train guard, waits by the railway line every night so that he can wave to his father. On the night of his birthday a huge tree falls across the line and Tommy must use his torch to try to save his father and the passengers on the express.
