Live coverage from the Stade Louis II in Monaco as European Cup Winners' Cup champions Chelsea, take on the European Champions League winners Real Madrid (kickoff 7.45pm). For Chelsea, the match gives them the opportunity to possibly lift their fourth trophy in just over a year, following their FA Cup triumph in 1997, and their League Cup and then European victory over Stuttgart last season.
Manager Gianluca Vialli has boosted his side since last term with the additions of foreign stars, France's World Cup centre-half Marcel Desailly, Italian forward Pierluigi Casiraghi, Denmark's Brian Laudrup and Spanish full-back Alberto Ferrer. And, of course, there's always Gianfranco Zola who scored Chelsea's winning goal in the Cup Winners' Cup final. But don't think that means it will be all one-way traffic. Holland's World Cup coach Guus Hiddink, now in charge at Madrid, has inherited a side packed with internationals, not least World Cup top scorer, Croatia's Davor Suker. Add to that Holland's Clarence Seedorf, French winger Christian Karembeu and home-grown stars Morientes, Hierro and Raul, and a clash of Europe's finest is on the cards.
