The Case for a Logical Bassoon

on BBC Radio 3

GILES BRINDLEY , MD, FRS, is Professor of Physiology at the University of London. He is also an amateur musician and has constructed a bassoon with a built-in computer, which, he claims, helps to standardise the sound and simplify the Playing of this, one of the most complicated of instruments.
He discusses his logical bassoon and its possible consequences for music lovers with WILLIAM WATERHOUSE, a principal bassoonist of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and JOHN WARRACK , critic and former oboe player.
