A high proportion of the books about Shakespeare appearing in this quatercentenary year have been concerned with the problems raised by the Sonnets. In particular, Leslie Hotson 's book Mr. W. H. suggests a new identity for its subject. Wilson Knight surveys the recent literature and outlines his own view of the solution to some of the questions involved.
