THE REV. P. STANLEY ELEY belongs to a small group of clerical sportsmen who have taken part in football as referees. Beginning as a junior in the South of England thirty years ago, Mr. Eley worked his way through various grades of the game. He came to Scotland in 1926, and the Scottish Alliance quickly elected him to its list ; for three seasons he was regularly engaged in that league. Mr. Elev is the minister of the Ward-law Congregational Church, Glasgow. He is the Vice-President of the Scottish Football Referees' Association.
