Billy Owen has at last admitted a certain interest in the coming baby and has gone so far as to say he ' wouldn'mind a sister.' With the baby in mind he has planned two Christmas presents which will help his mother, and has enlisted Dr. Dale's help. The rest of the family have also been thinking about Christmas presents: the men and the women have consulted each other but every suggestion strikes them as unimaginative. Only Billy seems to know his own mind.
