THE BOYHOOD OF BYRON

on BBC Home Service Basic

by Cuthbert Graham
The Aberdonians of 1795 called him ' Mrs. Byron's crockit Deevil.' Today he is commemorated by a statue and a square in a new housing estate. His early years in Aberdeen and with his mother's relatives in the North-East had a lasting influence on Byron the man and his work.
