The second of three semi-finals, in which Loyd Grossman is assisted by cookery writer of the year Josceline Dimbleby and writer, columnist and actor Stephen Fry, who admits to once confusing pickled onions with pickling onions when preparing a recipe. The contestants are Tony Davis, a computer sales training consultant from Harrow in Middlesex; hairdresser Helen Weller from Andover in Hampshire and London waiter Ross Burden.
