Constance Cummings 1940. Fred Carrick , foreman in an aircraft factory, is worried.
Some of his firm's special-purpose machinery is in France, in the path of the Nazi advance. In spite of his firm's unconcern, Fred is determined to retrieve the machinery, taking on Fifth Columnists, dive-bombers, refugees, lack of food, fires and death in the process.
