Navigator in the Seventh Circle

on BBC Radio 3

by Leonard Maguire
'I had a dreadful dream that I was put on trial . . . my whole life was in question, and they refused my answers, and kept pointing at me. The chief speaker in particular - it was Jemmy Bowyer the old flogging-master. Savage dogs in the room, snapping and gnashing their teeth, and I tried to run and could not.'

The action is set in an extension to Dr James Gilman's house in High-gate, an eyrie where the poet might work and think in quiet, and sometimes ... fall asleep.

(First broadcast on Radio Scotland) followed by an interlude
