by Wilfrid Blunt
The most comprehensive exhibition of Bower books ever seen in this country opened in London last week. The exhibition. which traces the development of botanical art through the centuries, both in this country and on the Continent, includes valuable books loaned, for the first time, from the Library of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and rare manuscripts from the King's Library at Windsor.
The task of gathering together all the exhibits, including -priceless volumes from France and elsewhere in Europe. largely fell to Mr. Blunt, and in this talk he discusses the long history of flower books and their illustrators.
