In May this year, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam hosted a festival of Mahler's music.
Virtually every note he wrote was performed. The three main orchestras involved were the Royal
Concertgebouw, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin
Philharmonic, the conductors included
Bernard Haitink , Claudio Abbado and Riccardo
Chailly, and the singers
Thomas Hampson , Barbara Bonney and Anne Sofie von Otter. Humphrey Burton presents all the concerts and talks to many of the artists involved.
