DEA: The Rats' Nest

on BBC One London

Fifth of the six-part documentary series following agents from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.
The cocaine-producing town of San Ramon in northern Bolivia is the safe haven of the country's third biggest drug trafficker, Yayo Rodriguez. DEA boss Don Ferrarone has switched his tactics from small-scale raids on cocaine laboratories to a full-scale military assault on San Ramon. Tonight's film follows the planning and execution of the raid, as 300 Bolivian anti-narcotics troops and the entire DEA team invade the town at daybreak. Will they achieve the element of surprise?
