' A Banker'
Lynn Doyle
Here is the first talk of a new series
-first broadcast last night on the Northern Ireland wavelength-the idea of which is to find out how we spend our leisure after reaching the age of retiring. To some it is a time long looked forward to, in which a man may do the thing he has always longed to do. To some it is a time of delightful idleness when they have no longer to catch the 8.2 up but may dawdle in the garden. Yet others turn their leisure to useful account, perhaps in a new job, paid or unpaid for ; and others are so bored with doing nothing that their leisure time seems to be thrown away.
The example to come to the microphone today is that of a man who is able to retire with a very active hobby — perhaps the happiest example of all.
