Intensive Care

on BBC One London

The documentary series about the real world of intensive care at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Carol, John and Phyllis will spend Christmas in hospital in order to be near their sick relatives. Although staff members are used to spending the holiday on the wards, the visitors find themselves in an alien situation and turn to each other for support. For them it is a time of waiting, not knowing what is going to happen to their loved ones. Tonight's programme focuses on how patients and relatives cope with the trauma and disruption to their lives.
