Wisecracking investigative reporter I.M. Fletcher is posing as a beach bum to get a story when he is approached by Alan Stanwyk with an incredible proposition. Stanwyk offers Fletch $50,000 and a guaranteed escape to murder him. Fletch finds himself caught up in a bizarre and dangerous plot.
