The Harry Welchman Story

on BBC Radio 2

Paul Nicholas presents a nostalgic musical biography of Harry Welchman, one of the biggest stars of West End musicals in the first half of this century.
With music from the hit shows he appeared in, including The Desert Song and The Vagabond King and the memories of his family, friends and colleagues including Dinah Sheridan, Dame Ninette de Valois and Lady Menuhin. Harry Welchman's widow and former co-star Sylvia Forde recorded an interview for this programme shortly before her recent death.
