The Lowdown follows Alex at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and watches Paul on Glasgow's comedy circuit. But breaking into alternative comedy is no laughing matter - especially if you are 14. Also appearing are Red Dwarf's Norman Lovett, Blackadder's Richard Curtis, Jeremy Hardy and Emo Philips.
