John and Sandi take 24 hours' shore leave when they reach Padstow in Cornwall. While Sandi searches for a character from her favourite book - The Good Food Guide
- John meets a man who collects huge mystical standing stones in his garden. As they sail towards Merseyside they deal with the stresses of night watches, an encounter with thousands of puffins and a collision with a pilot boat.
