The industrial cities of Australia are a long way from the French Riviera, a long way from Miami Beach. The prospering Australians cried out for a holiday paradise of their own, and they were willing to pay.... There was a mad season of land gambling and property speculation. On the Gold Coast millionaires came up like mushrooms, and the backs of great corporations were broken. The end of it all is a surface paradise....
