World Cup Grandstand

on BBC One London

featuring
Argentina v Italy from the River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires
Highlights of last night's final match in Group 1. With the host country winning the World Cup in two of the last three tournaments, Argentina are under extreme pressure from their supporters, who would regard failure to qualify for the Second Round as a national disaster. Italy, whose fans are equally demanding, eliminated England in the qualifying round. These two countries drew 1-1 in the 1974 finals, when Italy failed to progress beyond the first round.
