Johnny Cobb is a farmer who also acts as nominal sheriff in — nearby Firecreek, a handful of houses on the road to Sweetwater. When Larkin and his gang of outlaws ride into Firecreek, Johnny's policy is 'least said, soonest mended', but when threatened violence becomes real, he has to re-examine his whole attitude to life.
