Over the last year, poet Katrina Porteous recorded the sounds of this beautiful castle on the coast of Northumberland forthis poem, which draws on local myth, on the memory of raids by Scots from across the border, and on the ideal of good lordship. Performed by Trevor Fox and the children of Seahouses First School, it uses chants, dialect and the layering of language as well as the sounds of kittiwakes, the waves and the wind to tell the secret history of the castle.
