Federico, a successful Italian lawyer, is enchanted by Carla, his friend's fiancée. The news that the engagement has been broken off after Carla kept an assignation with her fiance's cousin, only serves to increase Federico's interest. At an apparently respectable antique shop he makes an appointment to meet her.
