Drama: Drovers' Gold 9.30pm BBC1

The penultimate episode of the Welsh western sees the cattle free of disease and nearing their destination. But there is precious little progress this week. After witnessing the birth of a calf, the story concentrates on the human drama. Aaron and Armstrong the blacksmith are both heartbroken by separation from their loves. Handl Williams (Robert Pugh) ignores a warning of a cholera outbreak and insists on visiting a nearby town, leaving the others to cope with the herd. For old Moc (Freddie Jones), the respite proves to be troubled by premonitions.
Handl, too, is disturbed by witnessing the horrific effects of cholera. But the drovers cannot lower their guard for Vaughan is as determined as ever to halt their journey.
